FAQ

What to know about hosting a Laughs & Crafts event

Q:HOW MUCH DO I HAVE TO PAY THE COMEDIANS?
A: You will not have to pay the comedians anything. We will make our money from ticket sales

Q: WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE A TAPROOM/SPACE?
A: Ideally the venues we seek have a separate area for events, rental space & tasting events so that we can charge admission to the show and the patrons get the full experience of tastings & comedy. But if you do not have an area like this we can still do the show in your common area.

Q: WHAT IF I DO NOT WANT TO CHARGE MY REGULAR CONSUMERS TO GET INTO THE COMMON SPACE?
A: Understandable. Some Taprooms/Breweries are closed Mon - Thur and we just do the event on one of those nights so there is no problem to charge an admission during regular business hours. But if that is not the case and you do not have a separate area then we would have to talk about compensation for the comedians which the cost varies depending on travel & lodging prices.

Q: DO I HAVE TO SHARE MY BAR SALES?
A: Absolutely Never! The Comedians get compensated by ticket sales or an agreed upon flat rate and never take a percentage of Drink/Food sales. If you want to we can discuss a combo-deal of Flights of beer & admission tickets but we do not have to.

Q: WHAT IF I DO NOT SERVE FOOD?
A: No problem. Some breweries have food trucks they schedule during events or we schedule show times allowing patrons to go out to eat before or after the show.

Q: WHAT TYPE OF COMEDY SHOW IS THIS AND IS IT FAMILY FRIENDLY?
A: We are strictly Stand-Up Comedy, not improv or musical.
The content is PG-13, although we target adult audiences that want a night away from the kids, which is never a problem as all breweries enforce the 21+ laws.

Q: WHAT IF MY TAPROOM/AREA IS SMALL?
A: We love to perform in large or small venues (we do it all)
The larger the room the more opportunity for profit, but the smaller the room the more intimate the show will be. When the room is smaller we simply add a 2nd show once the first show is almost sold out, and we can do a 2-night event if need be.

Q: WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER EQUIPMENT?
A: A stage is great but not necessary. Ideally you would have a microphone and speaker(s) or PA system but if you do not then we can provide a small speaker & microphone that is easy for us to travel with, or you can rent the equipment.

Q: WHERE DO YOU SELL THE TICKETS?
A: The Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and we also sell on Groupon & in some cities Airbnb.

Q: WHAT IS EXPECTED OF US?
A: We only ask that the venue does their best in getting the word out about the show. We will make you admin of the Facebook event and we ask that you share it on your Facebook or include it in your newsletter if you have one. If applicable please put it on your events page and some fliers, posters & table tents would be great. (Artwork provided) And of course word of mouth by the servers and bartenders is the best way to spread the word. Serving/staff is entirely your responsibility, and for higher bar revenue it is recommended that a server takes orders during the show.

Q: WHO ARE YOU?
A: I have been a working Comedian for 12 years, and in that time I have appeared on Comedy Central, Stand up & Deliver (Season 1&2) on TrueTV. I was a writer on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie & American Horror Story, and I am a regular on The Church of What’s Happening Now podcast with Joey Diaz. I have 8 years experience with running/producing comedy shows including comedy & wine tasting and I would bring some of my funny friends to put on a great show at your brewery.
